Blow Away Those January Blues – Citrus Crush is Back!

January is supposed to be the most miserable month of the year… Well FORGET THAT! Square Root Citrus Crush is back on the menu! Packed full of hand pressed Blood Orange, Grapefruit and Lemon juice, it’s sure to get you thinking of sunny Italian citrus orchards and forgetting about those cold, dark mornings.

Blood Oranges are one of our favourite winter fruits and ours have come straight from Calabria, Italy. They get their distinctive red colour from cool weather and so only ripen in winter months. Their colour also varies from red flecks to a deep red depending on what the temperature is when they ripen. The colder the weather, the deeper the red. This means that as the weather gets colder, our soda will darken in colour – our finished product is completely determined by the weather outside!

The Ruby Star Grapefruits we use also come from Italy – this time Sicily. They give our soda its wonderful tartness and that bitter grapefruit flavour mixes so well with the sweet blood orange to create a well balanced and refreshing winter citrus drink. It has a distinctive sweet, almost sherbety flavour and a wonderful tangy orange smell that makes it an irresistible tipple this January. Perfect as a soft drink, especially for those of you doing Dry January, or as a mixer with Gin and a dash of Italian Amaro!

Check out our Twitter to see where you can pick up a bottle – we expect to have it available right up until April!
